Summer 2020 ADT Teaching Topics Happy Hours (for all UMN teachers)

These events were started as 4:00 PM online "happy hours" so UMN teachers could have a place to talk about teaching during the COVID shutdown of campuses. Events open to non-members then continued beyond the summer.

September 27, 2019 Fall Workshop (open to UMN faculty, staff, students): Teaching in a World of Controversy: Fostering Respectful Dialogue in All Disciplines

This University of Minnesota workshop was presented by the Academy of Distinguished Teachers on Friday, September 27, 2019, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., in the Mississippi Room, 3rd floor of Coffman Memorial Union, Minneapolis East Bank campus. Watch the video of the event. 

2018 Biennial Fall Retreat: The 21st Century Classroom: Physical Spaces and Classroom Climate

The 2018 retreat was held September 21-23 at Ruttgers' Bay Lake Lodge.

2017 Teaching and Learning Conference

The 2017 conference was held on April 27, 2017 and featured a variety of useful and innovative presentations. See program here.

A highlight of the conference was the keynote address by Dr. Edward Ehlinger, Minnesota's Commissioner of Health.
